Skateparks are living sculptures. A blank canvas to paint lines, a sail to catch tailwind.
Skateparks can take many forms to meet different needs of the community, from the typical courtyard or plaza style, to the more organic shaped or sculptural parks. With our environmental construction background, we are working to pursue industry leading designs and techniques for building more ecologically minded skateparks.
Our site designs can tailor slow water infiltration features to reduce the need for large scale drainage and irrigation systems, while avoiding potential erosion problems. Using key design insights from a public landscape and permaculture context can open up the planning for added value of negative spaces between the concrete serving as multi-use permeable catchment basins.
Skateparks could also be a good environment for integrated community gardens, art spaces, wildlife habitats, shade structures, water features, or other sporting facilities
